Many of the "lifers' will have nothing, all they have now is hope. Hope that this system will end, hope paradise comes before they die. A false hope is better than no hope. If these ones find out that it has all been a sham, a lie, what will they have left? Broken dreams and broken promises, but it has to stop somewhere. My first instinct is to say yes, tear it down, now I just feel bad for the ones who have been believers for 50-60 years or more.

Watchtower prints all these leaflets and lets the rank & file protest and get arrested. Why aren't the ones at the branch and the ones who write these hateful magazines and books protesting? Weak, spineless men write this government hating stuff and hide behind all the drones. Sickening.

It may have been some hard choices that you have made, but you can be assured that it will be worth it. It may not seem like it now, but you will. As for trying to get your wife out, the harder you try, the deeper she will get in to it. That is what she has been taught. That is what she does. She will have to come to that decision in her own time, in her own mind, just like you did. You will enjoy your freedom, just give it a chance.

ask a dub acquaintance this and see if they have anything resembling a rational answer:.

you: when you're at a public event and the announcer says, "please rise for the playing/singing of the national anthem," you refuse to stand because that would be considered an act of nationalistic worship, correct?.

dub: correct.. you: why then, when a jw is in a courtroom and the baliff says, "all rise for the honorable judge whatsherface, court is now in session," do jws stand up?

the calm before session 2 of borg court is a chilling one.

quietly, our units go about their duties, but deep down, they're wondering: can we match swords with the very powers-that-be?

we are fighting against mount olympus itself, the elders, the organization--with our beloved wife and child looking on.

Many of us here know how you feel. You have received much good advice on this thread and others, the only thing that I can add is that the hatred will fade with time. Later all you will be able to see is pity for all those still stuck in that dreadful cult.
